Catherine Atkinson is the proud Labour Member of Parliament for Derby North. Before being elected, Catherine was a barrister with 17 years of legal experience and a local mum with three children. Her husband served in Afghanistan and was a retained Firefighter with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Catherine has spent the last decade involved in community campaigns in Derbyshire including successful campaigns to stop the closures of Ashgate Nursery School, Long Eaton Fire Station and Hazelwood Care Home and was previously a Chair of Governors at a Nursery School and Children’s Centre.
Catherine went with workers from Alstom down to Parliament because of concerns for their jobs and those in the rail supply chain. Catherine is committed to creating a safer, greener, fairer Derby.
